Casey Stewart, Yoga teacher & Studio co-owner
Casey’s passion for yoga inspires and holds space for students to journey deeper into their own practice, body, mind and spirit, both on and off the mat. Casey is recognized in the Pacific Northwest as an accomplished teacher and practitioner. She is the co-founder of Root 2 Rise, voted best yoga studio in Seattle by the readership of Seattle Yoga News in 2015.
Casey discovered yoga in early 2006, and the feeling of rejuvenation and encouragement left her instantly hooked. She was empowered to leave a high-stress career in the hospitality industry and immersed herself in study with world-renowned teacher Baron Baptiste. Her studies took her to Hawaii, Montana, and Colorado while earning her teaching certificate, after she immediately became part of the local teaching community. Most recently Casey traveled to Costa Rica for an opportunity to study with teachers, Elena Brower and Rod Stryker.
Casey walks the talk. She believes gratitude creates abundance, and in the power of manifestation. With a love of yoga and an impassioned sense of wanderlust, Casey has created a one-of-a-kind African yoga safari to Tanzania. She intends to continue planning worldwide yoga & wellness retreats in exotic locales. Casey finds many parallels between yoga and travel; be present, feel fully, and explore!
Teaching yoga flows from Casey’s genuine commitment to her own personal practice as well as the delight of connecting with others and sharing a love of yoga. She continually strives to bring a creative and playful energy to each class, incorporating a variety of styles and techniques she’s learned throughout the years. Believing “we are always a student,” Casey continues her studies with teachers including Elena Brower, Dharma Mittra, Jason Crandell, Amy Ippoliti, Sarah Powers as well as many others.
Home in Western Washington, Casey offers classes and in-depth programming at Root 2 Rise Yoga studio in Woodinville, WA. She is blessed to share her life with her two children, Ali and Isaiah and their four-legged friend, Chloe. When not on her mat, you can find Casey exploring the outdoors, hiking, snowboarding, walking her dog, or relaxing on a sandy beach.
